Catastrophe Claims Data Collection Requirement


The table below lists out the major catastrophe events for which an authorized insurer carrying on general insurance business is required to submit catastrophe claims details to the Insurance Authority. The submission may be required to be made on adhoc basis or along with the quarterly returns pursuant with the Insurance (Submission of Statements, Reports and Information) Rules (Cap. 41S).

1. The CAT code to be used for return form <B.G.TR.4>.
2. Authorized insurers are required to follow the quarterly return submission procedure and report the catastrophe claims in the return form <B.G.TR.4> within the 
specified period in rule 4(2) of Insurance (Submission of Statements, Reports and Information) Rules (Cap. 41S).

Adhoc reporting refers to the additional data collection requirements outside of the quarterly return submission cycle. The corresponding valuation date and the submission
deadline are shown. The same return form <B.G.TR.4> is used to report the catastrophe claims.
