The Insurance Authority (IA) today (26 August 2024) alerted the public to phishing mobile text messages from fraudsters under the name “香港年金文職” purporting to be HKMC Annuity Limited (HKMCA), an authorized insurer in Hong Kong.
HKMCA has confirmed that it has no connection with such fraudulent mobile text messages. The case has been reported to the Hong Kong Police Force for further investigation. Anyone who has provided personal information to the fraudsters or has conducted any transactions through the fraudsters should contact HKMCA at (852) 2512-5000 and report the case to the Hong Kong Police Force.
