Further to my letter of 25 July 2003 , I am writing to advise you that an updated list of names designated by the relevant United Nations Security Council Committee was published in the Gazette (G.N. 5655 and G.N. 6185) on 22 August 2003 and 11 September 2003 in accordance with the Ordinance and the Regulation respectively. The gazetted lists are available on the Government website (www.info.gov.hk/pd/content/index1.htm) under Gazette: Government Notice published on 22 August 2003 and 11 September 2003. To facilitate the update of your electronic database, a copy of the list in MS Word format is also available on the Insurance Authority's website (www.info.gov.hk/oci/framework/index04.htm).
The lists designated separately under the Ordinance and the Regulation are identical. Compared to the lists advised in my letter of 25 July 2003, an individual, Shamil Basayev, has been added under item no. 32 on the list of individuals associated with the A1-Qaida (List C).
Accordingly, please check the designated names against your records and take appropriate steps to ensure compliance with the Ordinance and the Regulation. You should also report to the Joint Financial I ntelligence Unit if any of the relevant names is identified.
